Urjavaran Foundation is a voluntary non-profit NGO which works closely with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency to promote energy conservation. Towards this end, they have instituted the Urjavaran Empower India Awards - to recognize appliance companies who have contributed the most by way of manufacturing and sales of energy efficient appliances.

In the first such awards held on 23rd July 08, Godrej Appliances were recognized for making the Maximum Market Impact on account of  Higher Star Ratings across models, in the refrigerators category.

Godrej Appliances won Gold in the category - ‘Most Trusted Brand’ at the Reader’s Digest Awards held on 21st May, 2008 for the 3rd consecutive year.

The award is given by consumers across the country to brands they trust, they find innovative, credible, understanding of their needs, et al.

The faith and the trust of the consumers in Godrej Appliances were validated when, in March 2008, the division added 2 more awards to its already long list- Mera Brand Award and Smart Living Award. The company was conferred ‘Mera Brand Award - Most Preferred Frost Free Refrigerator Brand’ by the FMCG Federation of India at the 5th Consumer World Awards. Our Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mr. Kamal Nandi graced the occasion to receive this prestigious Award.



The other award won by the Appliance Division was Smart Living Awards 2007- Best Brand in Refrigerator Category. This award was conferred by 360 degrees, a Times of India Group subsidiary.

The prestigious award from the Ministry of Power, Government of India, recognizes the eco-friendly technology and manufacturing processes adopted by Godrej Appliances. Eco-friendly innovations in design have made refrigerators from Godrej Appliances a clear winner for this award.
